As of today, I have only read 150 out of 550 pages of the Senate Report. For those of you that are reading the report with me. First of all, I value your input. The first 95 pages focused on the first CIA detainee Abu Zubadayah after he is captured in Pakistan. He identifies KSM in a picture, and names him as the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks. And knows KSMs nephew Ramzi Yousef, the jailed terrorist responsible for the 93 World Trade Center bombing. The second CIA detainee mentioned in the Report is Osama Bin Ladens former bodyguard Rida AL Nijjar. He is He is captured by the CIA just two months after Abu and is detained in a different site. Rida is the second detainee to receive enhanced interrogation and waterboarding. Both Abu and Rida receive extensive enhanced interrogation and waterboarding for a month. Abu identifies Ramzi Bin AL Shibh a facilitator for 9/11. Not long after Pakistani officials arrest Ramzi and detain him for 5 months. By December 2002, 14 months after 9/11, there are now several detainees at the CIA COBALT site so far. Out of the 5 secret CIA sites mentioned in the Report, COBALT is by far the largest site to have existed from the inception of the program in 2002-2004. Although detainees were not waterboarded, the CIA initially approved them for enhanced interrogation that includes walling, attention grasps, slapping, facial holds, stress positions, cramped confinement, white noise, sleep deprivation. During the months between August and November 2002, detainees at the COBALT site initially recieved these enhanced interrogations. Only a few months into the program, a detainee Gul Rahman is left naked after receiving enhanced interrogation. He is found dead in his cell the next day. He is reported to have died from cold temperatures. In response to the death of Gul Rahman. CIA Director Tenet signed the first formal, interrogation and confinement guidelines. Two months later in March, KSM is captured. Ramzi bin AL Shibh is transferred from the PakistanI authorities. Both KSM and Ramzi are sent to the CIAs BLUE site that only holds 2-5 people. KSM and Ramzi are waterboarded extensively and provide information on a plot to bomb Heathrow Airport, Canary Wharf. So there is proof that more attacks on the US and England were planned. One Senate Report interpretation of an email states that KSM has a pattern of behavior. Trying to control his environment, lying, and then admitting things only when told that others have admitted the plot. That KSM pretends cooperation. This is a clear indication that: ☆☆ In 2002- 2003 our foreign agents were gathering valuable intelligence. ☆☆ From June 2002- January 2003, the CIA Detention and Interrogation program resulted in valuable intelligence from the detainees at the CIAs largest site. COBALT. ¤¤ Between August 2002 and December 2002, detainees received not only approved enhanced interrogation, but were exposed to cold temperatures. As enemy combatants they did not receive the protections of the Geneva conventions. Less than five people were waterboarded of the 39 detainees that received enhanced interrogations. While I stand by the decision to water board KSM, and those closest to Osama bin Laden in hopes of preventing more attacks. We live in an atmosphere of political correctness. As we speak, low level uprisings are occurring across the world in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Lebanon, Arab Peninsula, Yemen, Sudan, Nigeria. Since April of 2014, the Al Qaeda Iraq fighters that had been fighting our US troops during the 2003-2010 Iraq War, renamed their group The Islamic State or ISIL. Within a few short months they have managed to attract thousands of foreign fighters from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Chechnya, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Libya, Yemen, throughout Europe and the world, completely changing the dynamics of the Syrian conflict between numerous brigades comprised of local and foreign fighters battling an oppressive but secular minority Alawite president known for using force to oppress his equally oppressive Sunni opponents. The presidents allies include many members of the Shiite led central government in Iraq, and the government of Iran. AL Qaeda Iraq, known as ISIL is actively recruiting people throughout the world.
