As our long term plan continues to deliver real benefits on living standards for local people here in Northfield, the CBI now reports that businesses are expecting to award inflation busting pay rises in 2015. Ive built up a business here in Birmingham that has created jobs for people across our city including here in Northfield. I know that employers are only able to give pay rises when they feel confident about the future, and when their businesses are doing well. Since the Labour party left us with the worst peace-time recession, many small businesses in particular havent had the resources to expand, take on staff or give pay rises. It is therefore great news that under the Conservatives, we are seeing a return to strong local businesses, growing, creating jobs for local people and able to boost wages.
