I was born in Cuba and came to the US legally with my family at a young age. Even though my father was a political prisoner in Cuba under the Castro regime, my family went through the legal channels and waited to be given permission to immigrate. For those of you who have never had the unfortunate experience to live under communism, let me tell you that a political prisoner and his/her family lives under close and constant vigilance and abuse. Even so, my family and I didnt skip to the front of the line. We didnt even use the Refugee Cuban Adjustment Act. We applied and we waited. Therefore, I do not, under any circumstances condone illegal immigration. I could never support it. What type of an ingrate would I be if I were to support such an invasion that hurts our economy, makes a mockery of our laws, puts our citizens in danger, and threatens our national sovereignty? I could never do that to a country that gave me and my family our Freedom. Just like Raul, Im an American Patriot first and foremost. And, I will be darned if I am going to allow my country to be invaded and disrespected by those who believe that they are entitled to come in as they wish.
