As several people are aware now -- I know it was announced at Bladeforums by Ag Russell -- writers and advertisers for and to Tactical Knives magazine were informed last week that the July issue, currently on stands, will be the last one. The magazine is being discontinued. Im very sad to hear this, not only because I enjoyed working for TK and its incomparable editor, Steven Dick (one of the most knowledgeable knife experts Ive ever spoken to, and for whom it has been and is an honor to write), but because it was my great privilege to work with many people in the knife industry in the course of my writing for TK. On the positive side of things, I will be attending the Blade Show in Atlanta (with a great big pile of business cards) June 6 through the 8th, and making as many contacts as possible -- not to mention meeting plenty of people in person whom Ive only met through email. My writing services are available to any manufacturer and individual who requires them; my website, THE MARTIALIST, affords me an influential platform that has existed for ten consecutive years. There may be other opportunities and I look forward to exploring them, too -- the end goal being always to bring to the widest audience the best, most honest tactical product information and analysis possible.
