As the Campaign draws to a Close By DR. PATRICK IFEANYI UBAH Ever since we first began this campaign and as we draw it to a close, we’ve been overjoyed by the tremendous response by the people, who have come out by the hundreds of thousands to take part in this process with impressive energy, enthusiasm, and hope for Anambra’s future. Over the past months, I’ve travelled all over the state, where I’ve had the opportunity to speak with so many people and local leaders from our communities, listening carefully to what they had to say. And what did I learn? That the people of Anambra are hungry for real change. That we are tired of the old ways of doing things here. We are tired of broken promises, tired of the failure to deliver governance. We are tired of insecurity, the poor quality of our roads and the shameful state of our schools and hospitals. We are tired of storytelling, we need action. We are done with the godfathers – all we need is God, the Almighty, only He is Our Lord and Provider. He is the only God Father that will be with me in your government house if I’m elected. Our great state, Anambra, is at a historic point, where we need something better than ‘business as usual.’ What we need is a ‘business Governor” who is capable of organising and increasing our resources to accomplish difficult projects for the benefit of all. We need someone with ownership spirit, foresight, drive, tenacity and strategic leadership skills to transform the state into a leading example, benefitting all Anambra people wherever they may be, whatever they may be doing. I believe that Anambra needs a governor that cares about the welfare of the people, that has the vision, ability to see the unseen bigger picture, capability to produce results, and is ready to give real empowerment to youths and women and transform our state into the shining star of Nigeria. We need a governor who knows the problems of his people and who is able to tell them exactly how he intends to solve their problem and show them what he is doing with their money. Some people have asked me why I want to be governor. Dr. Ubah, they say, why would you want to bother with politics when you are already a successful businessman? Why be a governor when you already have all that you want? My answer is simple: it is because of my self-made success and my contentment that I can now selflessly serve the people – free from the burdens of political debts and favours that clouds our political landscape. We cannot afford to have another governor that will abuse the resources of the state and will want to please his godfather, with Ifeanyi Ubah, there is no such fear. I feel a duty to give back to Anambra and offer my resolute commitment, experience, and dedication. As always, Ebube Chukwu Uzo puts God first in all his pursuits, this resolute commitment is no different: The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “ My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust” Psalm 91 1-2. Some take pride in a chariot, and others in horses, but we take pride in the name of the Lord our God. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand firm. Psalm 20 7-8 Anambra is a state of business people, who better then than a successful businessman to lead us. By His grace, I have a proven record of business success. I know what it takes to successfully manage a large operation and provide jobs for thousands, ensuring that everything is working from the very top executives down to the newest and youngest employee. I believe this makes me ideally suited to tackle the challenges facing our state. I hope to have the opportunity to apply my skills, vision, and ideas to transform Anambra, making it a place bursting with economic development, peace, and security. We must guarantee a brighter future to our children and the next generation. It’s time to put public interest above private interests. If elected into office, I will run a government of progressive action: ‘ana ekwu ekwu, ana eme eme’ My vision is bigger than my fears; my actions are louder than my words; and my word is my bond. Ndi be anyi: I AM READY TO LEAD ANAMBRA TO A BRIGHTER FUTURE! Vote Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah Labour Party
