As the nation continues to battle seemingly insurmountable - TopicsExpress

As the nation continues to battle seemingly insurmountable challenges with economy, agriculture, natural calamities, territorial disputes, and most recently, crude (and gravely) politicized tension between the Executive and the Judiciary because of DAP, confusion and fear have become a lingering company for many. Those who can afford have decided to flee and start anew in foreign lands, and those who cannot, would in defiance rather succumb to the early call of death, than suffer what appears to be a prelude to the apocalyptic end awaiting the Philippines. The question “will we ever rise up again?” is thus both inevitable and valid. After all, we are a country who convicted three of our presidents and jailed more than three of our senators, past and present, because of corruption. We are a country that posted the largest death toll in a typhoon and one that may post the largest in a losing war with a giant oil-thirsty conqueror. We are the dumping site of other countries’ factory overruns and a safe haven for drug lords, paedophiles, and international felons at large. We have incompetent cabinet members and agency heads whose stupidity about their jobs will shame Mr Bean, the three idiots, and the three stooges. Yes, we will never discount that we are home to boxing icon Pacquiao, grand slam beauty queens, and singing superstars. There is joy in knowing our buoyancy as a nation keeps us floating amidst the tides of danger, defeat, and death: CNN even hailed us as the most resilient race after braving Yolanda. But yes, there is more to life in the Philippines than belts and beauty, crowns and consolations, titles and trophies. Only that we must not allow entertainment and frivolity blur our vision of transformed governance: where we have statesmen not politicians, whose cause is not for the next election but for the next generation. We must continue to believe for selfless and dedicated public servants whose bosses are not just the masses that elect them, but the Maker that selects them. This is what Values Restoration Program is all about. Bringing the rain continuously where the seeds of righteousness are scattered, transforming the inner man and conforming people to the image and likeness of God. And yes, God: because regardless how politically incorrect professing and confessing one’s faith in God is in a now alarmingly becoming universalist Filipino society, only the belief in a personal, feeling, seeing, and understanding God can truly turn things around. The Council for the Restoration of Filipino Values will remain steadfast in bringing about a genuine transformation that begins in the hearts of people. It will never relinquish its role as an organization run by men and women who love God, Country, and Fellowmen. It will keep its vow to see a nation excellently educated, cheerfully consecrated, thoroughly transformed. This is our passion, our pursuit, our pride. God bless the Philippines. Voltaire L. Acosta II National Director, CRFV
