As they say... Learn from the past or be doomed to repeat it. Too often people come to an opinion on a topic based on a sound bite of information that resonates with them on some base level, rather than an informed researched view. If you are going to ignore an entire professional community that has dedicated their lives to a particular area the least one can do is put considerable personal research into such important issues. And even then, when in doubt, go with what the experts are saying as the percentages are always going to be with them. To do otherwise is the height of arrogance.
