As usual, my post will be incredibly lengthy, but I just wanted to talk about how much it means for me to be a part of the phenomenal Windsor Regiment Drum Corps, since Ive posting rather brief and vague synopses of my days this past weekend because Ive been having so much fun that havent had a lot time to use my phone. So firstly, thank you Kevin Serfass and the rest of the administration for opening the doors of your corps for kids like myself who have a serious enthusiasm for music. I commend you on how organized you guys are, and how down to Earth the whole staff is. You are all brilliantly talented people and Im so excited to work with all of you guys this coming season! Secondly, thank you Caleb DeGroote for telling me about this amazing corps. If it wasnt for you I wouldnt have even known about Windsor (Im horrible with keeping up with DCA and DCI and just other bands in general) and would have missed the opportunity to come up for the open house. Im also very excited to work with you and Nick specifically for front (shout out to him too for being such a great, super cool instructor as well) and am definitely looking forward to spending more than just fifteen minutes pre-performance at competitions going over technique. :P Thirdly, shout out to Stephen Elburn and Nick McAllister for taking this journey with me from QA to Windsor and for putting up with my craziness en route and at practice and outside of Windsor. I love you guys so much! (Shout out to Carley too for being there every step of the way as well, and for all that youve done for me. :)) Fourthly, front ensemble! Im so excited to be a part of your guys group! Sweet God you guys are all so talented. I cant wait to get to know each and every one of you. Julie, Sydney, Erin, Madison, Devin, Kelly, Megan, Taylor you guys are all just such cool people. Katie too! It was great being able to meet you this weekend, and Im glad you at least came out to see what Windsor was all about with the rest of us. Fifthly (that just sounds weird), for all of the fantastic, hilarious and talented people I had the pleasure to hang with this weekend in general from brass and percussion. Im making it a point to learn everyones names next practice, and to introduce myself to everyone that I didnt get around to meeting! You guys are honestly best group of people I have ever met. I was so excited to exchange phone numbers and send/receive friend requests to/from you all. I know were gonna kick ass this season and Im stoked to see whats in store for us. Oh and for everyone that I had dinner with last night that I havent mentioned yet, thatd be Chris, Gaddy, Lucas, Taylor, Floyd, Will, Andrew and other Andrew, you guys rock. SO EXCITED FOR THIS GROUP AHHH! Now if only I could just transfer to Lake Forest High School to see most of these kids on the reg...
