As we are heading close to Kiribati Independence Day 12th July, 2014, we all probably think about what independence actually means to us as citizens of Kiribati. Kiribati independence means everything to us for our nation. It is our heart, family and homes our culture despite our fears of global warming - the usual media spill of sea level rise, the threat of having to migrate in the future to neighbouring nations and ultimately losing our sovereignty from leaving our land. Many of us are believers, and for that we must hold onto the fact that God is in control of all things in nature, it is only He is the one who can move mountains and islands from their place (Revelations 6:14). If we hold onto Him, He will not abandon us as a people, He never does. And we are Kiribati, and strong!! We will fight to keep our nation together, whatever it takes. So let us post all our pictures here that make us proud of our island home
