As we reflect on 2014, we would like to share some memorable moments. While providing mortgage services is our business and is what we love to do everyday, our core values have helped us enjoy and build on our company’s involvement in the community. Here are some of the highlights from 2014 and a few announcements for 2015. First though we would like to remember those we lost this past year, those we counted as family, customers, and friends. Your footprints in our lives will not soon be forgotten. Thank you. Waffle Wednesday: (core value: To be Fun and Creative) We love waffles, so four times in 2014 we busted out the waffle makers and made waffles with fresh toppings, served Starbucks, and connected with others. Although the waffles are what people come for, our hope is that Waffle Wednesdays provide a great time to share with others and help to foster community. Besides, life at The Ross Group isn’t always only about mortgage stuff. CAX14: (core value: Socially Minded) We love the four charities we support financially and by being involved in what they do. On May 4th, we hosted a Charity Art Expo, at Blank Canvas Art Studio, where each charity was represented and able to share what they do. It was a great night of jazz music, wine tasting, horsderves, a raffle, silent auction, art work by some of our customers, a live artist who completed a piece during the expo that was auctioned off at the end of the night, and 100% of the money raised was given to the charities. In 2015 we will do a Week of Giving, providing a week long focus on the charities we love and some great items to bid on. Realtor Resource: (core value: Refuse to Stop Learning) Our desire is to constantly learn and share what we know with others. The Realtors we have the honor and enjoyment of working with were invited to a no-pitch lunch and share event. Tri-Trip and chicken were barbecued outside and a panel of speakers gave a presentation of best practices from technology, credit repair, balance in work/life, and important income and business tax information. Home Stories: (core value: We are People People) We went to the streets of San Francisco and Los Angeles and asked people, “what does the word home mean to you”? We recorded these responses in a video and shared it as part of our Thanksgiving message. You can watch the video on our Facebook page. We will continue asking this question and sharing the responses as our way to encourage people to consider that regardless of the house you live in; your home is truly what matters. 2015 Mortgage Payment Give-Away Challenge: (core value: Keeping it Real) We are giving away a mortgage payment in February. The person who has the best idea on how to creatively give away their mortgage payment, will be given the money to do so. Our hope is that you will be inspired to hurry up, pay off your mortgage and continue giving away a lot of money to help others and the charities that are important to you. Erin Wildman was hired to help us with a one day project back in 2013, and in June 2014 she left our company to go elsewhere. Erin is responsible for much of the above, fleshing out our companies core values, and she still helps behind the scenes from time to time. We are grateful for Erin and sorely miss her. A great way to end 2014 and prepare for 2015 is the announcement of Angela Wyckoff, who joins our team the first of the year as the self proclaimed, “Get it Done Girl”. We will be taking January 1st off to enjoy time with our families and community to celebrate the opportunities we have been blessed with in 2014 and to rest in preparation for all the we are planning to do in 2015.
