As you all know, I have been working at the St James Foundation for the last two weeks and will continue to do so for the next 6ish. On my first day, I was able to see how the foundation works and how IMPORTANT it is. In one afternoon, there were phone calls ranging from employees at St James needing assistance during hard times, someone from the Butte Rescue Mission needing medical assistance, to family members of patients needing transportation assistance. I couldnt believe all the ways the foundation helps out not just St. James, but our entire community. (Kids fit programs, diabetes programs, funding the cancer expansion center so people here in Butte can stay here, sleep in their own beds and be around their family members while receiving chemotherapy, the patient compassion fund (does not need to be a patient of St James,)scholarships for nursing students....) SO many ways this foundation helps Butte and I see 1st hand now how important it is to raise money to be able to continue helping people in our own community. I am a giver. I donate all the time. I however, have now chosen the St James Foundation as my main receiver of donations I make. I know that each and every PENNY goes STRAIGHT to the cause and I know it is being used for its purpose, and I SEE people benefiting from it.I LOVE knowing that my donation is staying here in town and being USED.
