Asia Pacific Breweries Limited (APB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Heineken International (HEINEKEN), and Heineken Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (HAP) have come together operating as the regional headquarters of HEINEKEN, governed by HEINEKEN’s new President of Asia Pacific, Roland Pirmez. Mr Pirmez, formerly Chief Executive Officer of APB, was appointed as President, HEINEKEN Asia Pacific effective 1 June 2013. Late last year, HEINEKEN acquired full control of APB and following a successful six month integration period, the company has now established a new regional hub in Singapore. The acquisition provides HEINEKEN with greater access to emerging markets, a strengthened brand portfolio and the ability to capitalise on the existing wide regional footprint and established market positions for growth opportunities. Asia Pacific offers one of the world’s most exciting growth opportunities for beer, supported by favourable demographics and economic growth, and HEINEKEN’s aim is to win in the Asia Pacific marketplace. In line with building one winning team, the HEINEKEN and APB export organisations in the region have also been integrated. This combined export organisation will strengthen HEINEKEN’s portfolio of premium brands exported regionally and grow the Tiger brand globally. The Tiger Brewery at Tuas will continue to provide the Singapore and Export markets in the region, but plans are underway to bring the HEINEKEN and APB offices together in one location by the beginning of 2014.
