Asked to post this on hear from Ally Paterson Here is the story, Filled up at 5:30pm. 1 mile later car packed in. Volkswagen took it into garage today. Found water in fuel (same problem Sainsburys had before Christmas), so new car warranty not valid as fuel contaminated. Alan Bulloch saw tanker filling up tanks at about 7pm last night. So, looks like I got watery slops at bottom of tank. Phoned Sainsburys Strathaven today where Mari Hamilton (duty manager) told me pumps and tanks all checked Saturday and Monday and emptied completely before being refilled. Hmmmmm. So, tuff luck matey, nothing to do with us. Phoned Sainsbury HO who have said they know of last problem and will launch immediate investigation. Volkswagen are kindly keeping the evidence of contaminated fuel for me, as I suspect my lawyers may need it. Also going to Trading Standards tomorrow for help. Anyway, whatever bull Sainsburys are spouting, there is definitely STILL water in their fuel tanks, only this time they are trying to dodge claims for the repairs their dodgy fuel has caused. You have been warned folks.
