Assalamu alaikum WRB, According to a hadith words of wisdom are the lost treasure of a momin wherever he finds it, gets it. A friend has informed from Saudi Arabia that there is an arrangement among the Pathans from Afghanistan/Pakistan to help out the people working in Kingdom in case of a calamity. Pathans have formed an organization consisting of pathan members who register themselves with the organization. Each registered member gets a card of membership and their contact numbers are available with the staff of the managing committee. The members are contacted by the committee as and when required. One of the organization has Approx. 2,000 members. If a member dies each member of the community contributes an amount of SAR 10 to 15 depending upon the circumstances of the deceaseds family. On an average the family of the dead gets approx.. 20 to 30 K in Saudi riyals. Members make such donations when required and it happens that sometimes no donations are collected for more than a year or so and sometimes twice or thrice in a year. Even if such donations have to be made every month then 10 to 15 riyals per month is not a big deal provided one also has the assurance that his family will be supported in similar circumstances. Are there any such arrangements among Indians? Perhaps may be among Keralites. What about Hyderabadis? They have organizations which only arrange some mushairas and Ghazal nights and no such welfare schemes have been heard of them. Perhaps the Hyderabadis lack trust among each other. Can Hyderabadis in particular or Indian Muslims in general start such schemes? Approx. 25,000-30,000 Hyderabdis might be working in Saudi Arabia. Imagine if a person’s family gets an amount equal to 4 to 5 lakhs after his death how helpful that might be. If we extend it to national level then everybody will be benefitted.
