So dear Bastards, I have a problem here. We normally mix our own collodion, but last month we had a big thing going on and we decided to go for a premixed collodion from Mamut (New Guy Positive). Everything worked just fine, our dev formula works just fine with it and the images are great. BUT: look at the pictures down here... as soon as I varnish the plate, the picture changes completely its shape. it doesnt disappear completely, I would rather say that it slightly melts... Luckily I took the good habit to make two shots (one for varnish test, just in case..) The two pics you see have been taken one after the other, the one on the right is still in the original state, the left has been varnished with Anas shellac. (Which by the way works super good with other formulas) I guess that the problem is due to the different alchool used from Rasto and Ana? Or simply the amount of alchool in the collodion? Collodion is fresh, just opened. Varnish is 13%. What do you think?
