At 4:15 PM, radar shows an intensifying shower over Enola in Burke County about 7 miles south-southeast of Morganton. The showers in the southwest part of the county are weakening as is the shower near Pleasant Grove. However, strong thunderstorms are still occurring near Marion and just east of Hickory near Conover and Newton. Lightning strikes are possible anywhere in Greater Burke at the moment so please exercise extreme caution if venturing outside or planning any outdoor activities.--Steve
