At Alice Smith Elementary School, we follow 5 core values. They are for our students to show: Cooperation, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Safety. Alice Smith CARES… We are collecting canned and nonperishable food for the Salvation Army ahead of the holiday/winter season. If we can fill all of the barrels, Alice Smith ES will earn a Free Dress Day. There will be two public meetings to discuss the uniform policy for next year . They will be Tuesday, 10/21, from 5:30-6:00 PM and Wednesday, 10/22, from 9:00-9:30 AM. Both meetings will be in the library. The Winnie Auctions for 5th and 6th Grade will be on 10/22. No Early Release on 10/22 due to High School Proficiency Exam testing. Conference Week will begin next Friday, 10/24, and go through Thursday, 10/30 Harvest Festival is Coming…. 10/28… This year at the Harvest Festival Mr. Rackley and Mr. Westby have teamed up to support Sam Young and his fight against a still uncertain to determine auto-immune disease. We will be raising money from now until the Festival, and for every $100 the Alice Smith School community raises for this event one five gallon bucket of ice water will be dumped. The teachers have opened the pot at $200 so each will receive AT LEAST one ice bath. All money raised for this event will go directly to Sam’s family to help offset the cost of health care and travel as the medical community wrestles with this disease. No School on 10/31- Nevada Day- Happy 150th Birthday The 1st Quarter Awards Assemblies will be on 11/3.
