At MOM’s inaugural Our Singapore Conversation (OSC) session on “Lifelong Learning – Continuing Education and Training (CET)” held on 8 June, Acting Minister (MOM) Tan Chuan-Jin shared that CET is the sharpest edge of training that keeps workers relevant. In his closing remarks, he also emphasised 2 key objectives of CET: a. To provide ample opportunities for S’poreans to find good jobs; and b. To enable S’poreans to be agile and switch jobs or sectors to adapt to the changing economy. The session was attended by about 50 members of the public comprising employers, employees and training providers from various walks of life. They shared insightful perspectives on what lifelong learning means to them and how we can chart our future CET landscape together.
