At Tango by the River, we believe it is important to the health and growth of our tango community to help worthy young people make that first trek to the mecca for tango: Buenos Aires. We therefore make every effort to raise the funds needed to cover their airfare and hotel expenses so they can experience Buenos Aires firsthand. Your $20 donation at the door gets you $1000 in Casino chips -- and he or she with the most casino chips at the end of the night wins the grand prize of a PRIVATE LESSON with guest MAESTROS LIZ and YANNICK VANHOVE (2012 European Stage & Salon Tango Champions, coming to Tango by the River November 8-10, 2013). Yes, this is the night of our regularly scheduled classes, but since there will already have been 4 Thursdays in October, we are using this 5th Thursday as a special FUNDRAISING event for the Nicholas Washington Scholarship Fund.
