At approximately 10:00pm on Christmas Eve as Engine 12 was traveling west on Harrison Street at the curve just before Park Ave returning from a call, a motorcyclist was traveling east on Harrison through the curve, lost control and laid the bike down. The bike slid into the oncoming Engine 12 on the drivers side between the front and rear tires. Luckily the rider did not go under the engine as it collided with the motorcycle. Engine 12 sustained minor damage and the patient was treated and transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center. The motorcycle rider is expected to make a full recovery. Lieutenant Doug Chamberlain, Acting Driver Ben Lees, and Firefighters Conner McBride and Ian McFarland were not injured as a result of this accident and immediately went to work assessing and treating the patient.
