At approximately 2:00 a.m. on January 16, 2015, uniformed patrol officers of the Greenville Police Department noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of the Exxon gas station located on N. Memorial Drive near HWY 33 West in Greenville. At the time, the business was closed. GPD K9 Chesty alerted to the odor of narcotics on the vehicle, which was a 2015 Chevrolet truck. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of eight kilograms of cocaine. One kilo was hidden in the gas tank of the truck. The other 7 kilos were hidden in the dashboard of the car, behind the glove box. The following individual was arrested: Jesse ZEPEDA Jr., 40 years old, of Converse, Texas ZEPEDA was charged with Trafficking in Cocaine by Possession and Transportation and Maintaining a Vehicle for a Controlled Substance. He was incarcerated in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $5 MILLION secured bond
