At tonights demonstration for Palestinian medics under fire, a crowd of hundreds marched from the Dept of Foreign Affairs down Grafton Street. They chanted and clapped BOYCOTT! ISRAEL! *CLAP* *CLAP* BOYCOTT! ISRAEL! *CLAP* *CLAP* as they made their way through a busy late night shopping crowd on one of Irelands busiest commercial streets. Some people joined in, some people literally gave ovations from the sidelines. It was a deeply moving experience to be part of, and well done to Gaza Action Ireland for organising it. This followed on from BDS actions taking place in several places around Ireland, a large mobilisation at the Dail at lunchtime, millions (were only exaggerating slightly) of phonecalls of support, tonnes of randomers (including several local business owners) coming into the office to express support and offer help. And of course the Kinvara boycott Israel decision, and the strong support from the trade union movement and even politicians who one wouldnt necessarily expect support from. The energy around this movement in the past three weeks has been simply inspiring. Thank you to all who have been a part of it, and let us all continue to struggle to play our part in achieving JUSTICE FOR PALESTINE!
