Attention America: BIG GOVERNMENT OUT OF CONTROL ~~ Yesterday, Chairman Darrell Issa and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform grilled IRS officials on excessive expenditures and flawed accounting of how the money was actually spent. At issue was how the IRS managed to spend over $50 million on conferences between 2010 and 2012, including spending more than $4 million on an especially “over the top” Anaheim, California, conference in 2010. Chairman Issa angrily took the IRS officials to task over their misguided use of taxpayer money… “Not only does the IRS take your money, not give you proper answers, but then when it comes to tens of millions of dollars, use it in a way that is, at best, maliciously self-indulgent." In an ironic twist, Faris Fink, then Deputy Director of the IRS division that staged the most lavish conference in 2010, was asked by Representative Elijah Cummings (D-MD) why there were holes in the IRS accounting. Fink answered that, unfortunately, they couldn’t account for all of the expenditures! Cummings then remarked that an IRS agent would certainly disallow an undocumented expenditure by virtually any American businessman in that same situation! ++The IRS is clearly out of control. Government waste and worthless expenditures have unfortunately become the norm for a behemoth-sized federal government operating with ineffective oversight, poor accountability AND NO LEADERSHIP!!! In what is increasingly looking like an incompetently managed administration, it turns out that the IRS is arguably the most powerful, and least controlled, government bureau of all! Chief Justice John Marshall said, “The power to tax is the power to destroy” in the historic pre-Civil War case McCulloch v. Maryland. As the Obama administration is proving, the power to secretly attack political opponents through the IRS is also a very powerful tool!
