Attention Please: Type 1 diabetes is the immune system destroying beta cells within the pancreas which removes the ability to produce insulin. Children with type 1 diabetes are born with the disease and currently affects 122,000 children in Australia. At this stage there is no cure and these children are insulin dependent for the rest of their lives. One of our members of Illuminated Factors has a sibling currently affected by this condition. Due to this our next charity will be raising money for The Australian Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation who does continual research in the hope of finding a cure.
