Attention all Squadron members of The Cypher: Just because you are not on the current flyer listed as The Cypher Squad, does NOT mean you are no longer in the Squadron. There are only 20 spots on the flyer and I always take mental roll call of who actually comes out EVERY week and supports underground hip-hop & bass music; Who is hungry and who brings good energy. The 20 names on the cypher flyer represents the current djs, emcee, founding members, and those putting in work to build this tiny hip-hop community in San Jose. A community that is segregated by bitter old players, and new jacks who are ignorant to the history of the 408 Rap Game. Ive been bringing A LOT of out of town talent to San Jose. Yet the O.G.s that are leaders in the scene cant even show up, and if they do, they go outside and freestyle, during the performances. Like I said, imagine youre in another city and you step on stage to perform and then everyone goes outside to freestyle. Not cool. So now you know what the deal is. If you want to be on the Cypher flyer show up and support and network with our guest emcees and djs. BE A LEADER. We have a beautiful new venue, I personally boosted up the sound system, we have legit security, we have great drink specials for those on a budget, and there are NO CRACKHEADS! Shout outs to Abraham Alv, Jeff Turner, Myc Ripley, Peter Edgewize Hammersley, James Da-shawn Johnson, Ronny Ferrari, James Martinez, Jason Dlux Samayoa, Myke DiBattista, Mike Djslim B, Ydmc D Man Son, Bran Son, Chlorophil Djinn, Freddy Betancourt, Josue SwayD Juarbe, Jonathan R Espinal, & our regulars for showing up every week, even though most have day jobs the next day, and showing face and supporting our little piece of turf called THE CYPHER.
