Attention all U.S. Navy Vietnam veterans. Our judge advocate Drew Early who is very active in Veteran disability law keeps us informed of the updated brown water rules and regulations that are now available. If you are a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam or know someone who is and who is suffering from disabilities, please look at the link provided as to what ships are considered to be in the Brown Water Vietnam. If you, or one of your friends served on one of these ships during the time that is mentioned in the link, you are eligible to apply for Vietnam disability benefits caused by the herbicide, weed killer, 245D – 245T, known as agent orange. Next item: I just talked to our assistant adjutant Willie Guzman, who underwent surgery on January 17. Willie says thank you to everybody, for all of phone calls, cards, letters and all the emails you sent to him. The get well wishes are greatly received. Willie says he’s recovering and recuperating as quickly as possible. He will probably not be at the February meeting, but he said he is anxious to get back to the DAV activities. He will be at the March meeting. Next meeting Our next meeting is February 3, at 6:30 PM, at our regular meeting place 995 Roswell St., Marietta, GA. ¼ mile West of the big chicken. If you would like to see a service officer about a disability claim, please show up at 6 PM. At this February meeting the Nominating committee will tell us who the candidates are for election in March.
