Au revoir Vermont. Et merci à Lucie Rouits, Don and Jennifer Grossi, André Maquera and Will Patton, Ben Maddox and Joe Adler, Jolinda and Bob Rosane, Andy and Izzy Brinkley Rosane...Indeed. Were Done. last night our last gig an open mic at a lovely wedding in Moretown VT. Folks dressed to a T, somewhere between Dorothy Gale and Tim Burton. Past 3 weeks of recording, performing, writing, rehearsing and listening have been mind -bending, exhilarating and exhausting all at once. Like Schrodingers pussy, sort of, all alive and dead at once ;-) Take home quote...Playing music IS hard, because youre never really there, never where you want to be.... Although, this time, we DID come close, Don ;-) Sooo... Before we jet back to FRancia, a quick video to thank you and Jenn and everyone here in the Green Mountain state for your inspiration and professionalism and help and kindness and generosity and love: André Maquera at West Street Digital for recording and co-producing our forthcoming CD...DAwg Day, the amazing Will Patton for playing on it, Ben Maddox up at the The Flying Disc for lending us some gear and making the best damn double espresso this side of the Mississippi, Ty and Melanie Stony Pond Farm for the awesome video shoot location, Sharon and her staff The Bees Knees in Morrisville, Vermont (truly the best food in Vermont), Howie and his crew down at the Parker Pie Co.. (also truly the best food in Vermont ;-), local jedi council member Joe Adler and his very musical and music-loving team at Radio Bean, SWeet Melissa and freakin amazin musician Jason down at Moogs Place, the elders down at the Lodge at Otter Creek, our friends and family (Hal, Charlotte, Annette, Jeff, Tiffany, the Stephens family, Peggy, Dave Tucker and Pauline (for coming to almost every gig) and cousin Bob Rosane and Jolinda, Andy and Izzy, Sue Katt at Two Dog Farm and Julia Scott (for holding the camera and being wiser beyond her years:-)) and every single member of Buzzkill Abby and their beautiful children and our new found friends from the bronx, Roberto Gonzalez et al., ...Last but not least, to you 2, the inimitable Don & Jenn, for organizing most of this green mountain lollapalooza, to Don for my first mind-expanding guitar lesson ever (yeah, i know, i needed one ....;-) and for repairing my guitar, too; to Jenn for her voice and coaching an all her love and hugs and hard work and bringing us together at their Summer Street Music Series, undoubtedly our most thrilling gig so far as DAVID & LUCIE. So. Without further ado. One of our latest tunes Grandma, penned here in Richford, Vermont, and starring our friend Tack, the chipmunk, who is a seed-thieving bully and opportunistic putz who ate half my tomaters and urinated on the leg of the sweet young lady from France who hand-fed him unsalted peanuts...Rodents...and yes, Walt Disney is crap science, because these cute animals are wild rats in sheeps clothing. :-P Ps: Oh! and Don and Jenn and Will Patton will be coming to play with us in gai paree this winter! Vermont IS a french word after all.... Lucie voudrait vous traduire tout ça en français mais.... je crois quelle fait grasse maTte...rrrronfleu....
