Auditions announced for Simi Actor’s Repertory Theatre Production of ‘A Christmas Carol’ Actors’ Repertory Theatre of Simi will be holding auditions for its upcoming Broadway musical production of “A Christmas Carol,” music and lyrics by Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens, with book by Mike Ockrent and Lynn Ahrens. Experienced performers with strong acting and singing abilities are needed. Good movement abilities are required. Actors should prepare 16-32 bars from a Broadway show tune appropriate to the style of show, Please bring sheet music, current head shot and resumé; an accompanist will be provided. Recorded music or a Capella audition is not acceptable. Available roles include: Bob Cratchit; Scrooge’s employee, Emily; Scrooge’s childhood sweetheart, Jacob Marley; Scrooges deceased business partner, Ghost of Christmas Past/Lamplighter, Ghost of Chritsmas Present/Sandwich Board Man, Ghost of Christmas Future/Wraith (this role will require exceptional dance skills), Mr. Fezziwig; jovial employer of the Young Scrooge, Mrs. Fezziwig; his jolly wife, Scrooge at 12, Scrooge at 18, Mr. Smythe; recent widower, Grace Smythe; young daughter of Mr. Smythe (8-10), Mrs. Cratchit; Bobs wife, Tiny Tim; (9 to 12 years), crippled son of Bob and Mrs. Cratchit, Fred Anderson; Scrooge’s nephew, Sally Anderson; Freds wife, Old Joe; a rag seller and scavenger, Cratchit children; two to three children ranging from 8 to 16 years, three wealthy charity wives, three wealthy charity men, Beadle/Creditor; a worker in Scrooge’s bank, various ensemble singer/dancers to play party goers, street characters, and so forth. Auditions will be held on Oct. 1 and 2, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Simi Valley at ARTS Performance Academy, located inside the Simi Valley Town Center Mall, 1555 Town Center Way.
