August 7th is Malbok (last of the three dog days) & Ipchu. As one of the three Bok Days-Chobok, Jungbok, and Malbok, Malbok is the period in which the fall season begins on the one hand but the heat of late summer is unrelenting on the other hand. Thus, the scorching weather is endured but the tropical nights phenomenon disappears at night and cool wind blows. Malbok and Ipchu are the same day, and in order to beat the last summer heat, people usually eat Samgyetang, a young chicken soup with ginseng and other ingredients. 말복은 삼복(三伏) 가운데 마지막에 드는 복날로 가을이 시작되는 입추이기도 하지만 마지막 더위가 기승을 부리는 시기로 더운 날씨는 지속되는 편이지만 저녁에는 열대야 현상이 대부분 사라지며 시원한 바람이 불기 시작합니다.말복과 입추는 같은 날로 가을의 시작을 알리고 마지막 더위를 이기기 위해서 어린닭에 찹쌀을 넣고 끓여 먹는 삼계탕을 많이 먹는 날이기도 합니다.
