Aulo Nov 20, 2014 there is more to fishing than just catching fish...... after more or less about 4 hours of hunting for the elusive toman, and only having a weak single strike from a small toman.... i decided to just enjoy the rest of the day and relax. we got litson na chicken and tilapias and three cases of colt45. i was able to talk to councilors and some locals. here are the salient parts of our productive conversation. - i explained to them how can they earn by developing and protecting the area. i also explained to them the concept of CPR. it was an enlightening and pleasant discussion; - i helped them organize and their first project will be to come up with a nipa hut with an outback before December which will be available for rent to anglers who will do overnight fishing, cost will be PhP 50 per head; - we also conceptualized a system in the usage and fees of boats; and - they will help in coming up with a barangay resolution to ban electrocution fishing in aulo dam. by the way, due to the absence lately of pangunguyente toman is now again thriving in aulo, i saw a lot , as in the area it covers is more or less about 30 by 30 square meters of scattered but very dense toman fries, some the size of fingers and others are way bigger. i guess there are hundreds and hundreds of them basing on the density of fries saw. by summer they will be mamaws. :)
