Stinker- NZF Fiji on Foster alert Nasik Swami Thursday, October 31, 2013 THE Australian Federal Police has officially requested the assistance of the Fiji Police Force to investigate claims made by wanted notorious international conman Peter Foster that he is in the country. Police chief of operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu said liaison officers of the Federal Police, who are in the country, met the Acting Commissioner of Police, Ravi Narayan, on Tuesday. I can confirm that Federal Police have consulted the acting commissioner on that and we will continue our close monitoring, ACP Tudravu said. He said they had also started to analyse the photos that were circulated to some Australian media by Foster, claiming it was taken in Fiji. This guy is a fraudster. But we are closely monitoring and analysing the pictures he has sent to media outlets. ACP Tudravu said they were also closely monitoring all entry at the borders and police officers were going through records. According to the report we have received from our borders that we have not detected any entry but we are closely monitoring. Foster claimed yesterday he would be at the Coral Coast tomorrow. In an electronic correspondence to this newspaper, Foster said he would be meeting an Australian journalist for an interview. Foster also said he wanted the arrest warrants against him lifted. I am in Fiji. I want the warrants lifted. A government statement issued on Monday said Foster would be arrested if he was found in the country. It said the Department of Immigration did not record Fosters entry through any of Fijis borders. Foster is wanted in Fiji for charges relating to obtaining a work permit using false documentation in 2006. If he is in the country, he will be apprehended and these charges will be reactivated. If found guilty, Foster faces potential jail sentence, the statement had said. The statement said authorities would continue to monitor air and sea ports around the country.
