YOUTUBE.COM Larry Rose...I had the great fortune of working with her on a production of th Schuloper, Der Jasager. At Brooklyn College Conservatory we did a production of Der Jasager with a new translation of the Brecht tome on non-conformity--- the boy conforms and is killed according to the custom---by our director, Karoly Kope from Juilliard and a jazz orchestra (notably scored for outta tune piano and about 15 other instrumentalists) also picked up from Juilliard, Chorus, very Greek, and six characters. To ger permission to stage this and also to use a new English version we had to get Lotte Lenyas OK. We got it... and she attended final dress and prior an editing session in which I was invited to participate. . We went out for drinks after. Marvelous... a legend and me with martinis. I played the Erster Student. The rest of the bill was Hin and Zuruck by Paul Hindemith... that one-act show starts with old woman sneezing a-Choo and then the whole thing reverses in the middle when the evangelist comments that life makes as much sense backwards as forwards,,,and ends with Choo-a. Actors commit and uncommit a murder etc.
