Awesome day! After being told through a Ham friend- KF5TEX- my Husband and I went to check on some tower sections for sale that I needed to complete a planned 70 tower for my Hy-Gain Tri-bander Antenna. He did have the needed sections, reasonably priced, so Ill be able to start rebuilding the Tri-bander that is currently closely resembling a pile of sticks- scary to a new YL Ham like me, lol. Im thrilled to have it at an incredibly low price, but didnt know when I could actually set it up due to a serious lack of a rotator... I couldnt see setting up a 70 Antenna without one, and I didnt see any funds coming for a new one, or any sign of a good used one... Until today! He had a GOOD one for half its normal price! :) Id recently sold a Autoharp of my own that will almost cover the cost, so its just what I needed to find. :) AND...To top it off...! He is ALSO willing to come by my Music Office-Radio Shack and be my Elmer on my FT101E! Ive never turned it on, as I wanted to avoid damaging it through lack of experience, and after searching for months now, I just couldnt find any local Elmer to help me learn to safely operate it. Now Ill have 2 radios working, one TS2000X Kenwood with 100w, and my FT101E with about 160w- a lot of watts for me...! This will still be a LONG way from the Radio Shacks Ive seen here- but a fun start for this YL! Im glad we have this corner to enjoy our hobby on Facebook.
