Awwww shit, I totally F’ed up. Well, I didn’t actually F up yet but I know it’s coming. When we left town I forgot to move our annoying Elf on the Shelf so even though it’s after Christmas and supposedly that mini dickwad has gone back to the North Pole or a tropical island or wherever he goes once he’s done playing Big Brother and reporting back to Santa, ours is still perched on top of our kitchen faucet with that stupid shit-eating grin on his face. So when we get back to our house after a long exhausting day of travel, the kids are going to run in and be like “Christmas Light is still here!!!” Well, Zoey’s gonna say that because that’s the stupid name she gave him years ago. Holden’s gonna say “Chandelier is still here!!!” because that’s what he calls him. No idea why. I mean why they couldn’t give him a normal person name like Chippy or Gunter or Larry is beyond me. But I digress. Basically when we get back in town I have to remember to push everyone out of the way and bolt into the house so I can take him down and hide him quickly before they see him. And you know I’m totally going to forget. Or I’m gonna remember and I’m gonna toss him into a cabinet and then in April the kids are gonna be looking for something and they’re gonna open that cabinet and say, “Yayyy, Christmas Light/Chandelier is back!!” Anyways, I’m screwed. Someone come up with an excuse for me pleeeeeease.
