Ayeduase City of KNUST,,,,,,,,, The Scrambling 4 Space ! Ayeduase is a border town to KNUST and just like any other Community next to a Tertiary Institutions, it directly feels the ripple effect of Students activities in every sense,,,,,,,,,But, Ayeduase case seems compounded & as a town apt for studies, because of the presence of other Educational Institutions like, University. of Management Studies, Elite College and cluster of Basic Schools all within the same enclave,,,,,,,, The innocent residents bear the brunt of the High cost of living, Human traffic & are always in the state of despondency of being ejected from their rented rooms/houses, due to the overspill of Students & Staffs population, which has turned Ayeduase to be a Hot Spot for Property Developments,,,,,,,,the tearing down of dilapidated Houses to build Hostels/Hotels is now the norm. And a square foot/plot or House being sold is only quoted in thousands of Dollars than,,,,,,,, Meanwhile, the yearly soaring of Students makes the Economic activities around the area prosperous in terms of Provision Shops, Stationery Offices/Cafes, Salons, Restaurants, Pubs/Bars, Estate Agents, Transportation etc,,,,,,,,,the irony is, the massive influx of foreign Students(Nigerians, Liberians) always push commodity prices higher,,,,,,, In other jurisdiction, the situations at the towns of East Coast - USA(Harvard, Yale, MIT), the Oxford & Cambridge cities and even our own Legon are indifferent, just that its more organized than Ayeduase,,,,,, ,,,,,,,The system may have failed to envisage about the impact of KNUST on its neighbors(Ayigya, Ahinsan Estate, Gyinyase, Ayeduase) but, looking at the dividends being raked in should entreat the City authorities to prioritize these areas,,,,,,! ***kwabena nsafoa***
