Carl Douglas then tried a follow-up with Dance The Kung Fu . . . and it tanked as fast as lightning. 35 years ago . . . in 1978 - The White Shadow debuted on CBS. 33 years ago . . . in 1980 - Bosom Buddies, featuring superstar PETER SCOLARI and some guy named TOM HANKS, debuted on ABC. 32 years ago . . . in 1981 - The British Phonographic Industry, with the endorsement of rock stars like ELTON JOHN, 10CC and the BOOMTOWN RATS, placed ads in the British press claiming, quote, Home taping is wiping out music. 28 years ago . . . in 1985 - STEVEN SPIELBERG married AMY IRVING. They divorced four years and one child later . . . and her prenuptial agreement netted her $100 MILLION for her troubles. 24 years ago . . . in 1989 - PAUL MCCARTNEY suggested the three surviving BEATLES might reunite, but GEORGE HARRISON shot down that idea, saying, quote, There wont be a Beatles reunion as long as John Lennon remains dead. (Of course, he kind of lied. In 1995, Paul, George and Ringo contributed to some old demos of Johns from the 70s to create two new Beatles songs.)
