Besides this, those musicians often get the opportunity to back up and record with tremendous and inspiring American artists like Karl W. Davis, Josh Miller, Steve « Mr Blues » Miller, Jim Mc Kabba, Little Mike, Kenny Clarke, Ben Champion, Barrelhouse Chuck, Doctor Burt, Jimmy Burns and so on. A powerful and super tight 4-piece organ combo (B3 organ, Sax, Drums, Guitar, Vocals) or a 5 to 6-piece band (+ upright bass and sax/trumpet). Josh Miller : « When I first got to Nantes-FR, I met a bunch of talented local blues musicians. I could tell they had been listening to the right stuff, trying to get as close to that old school phrasing and sound as they could. Ive been playing in France since 2002, at least once a year ; the Bad Mules often come to the States to play gigs and year after year, being on the road, they got tone and « grease », they sound just right to me » (FR) Né à Nantes en 2003, ce quartet arpente Festivals et Scènes Blues, sous forme dun combo batterie, orgue, guitare et sax, enrichi parfois dun 2è saxophoniste et dun bassiste / contrebassiste. Leur expérience au sein dautres formations telles que Scratch My Back, Voodoo Doctors, Lonj Trio, Flyin Saucers, Xavier Pillac, est renforcée par de multiples collaborations musicales avec de nombreux artistes internationaux comme Karl W. Davis (GA), Josh Miller (FL), Jim McKabba (NY-FL), Doctor Burt (AL), Jackson Reed (South Africa), Jimmy Burns (IL), Barrelhouse Chuck (IL), Little Mike (NY), et bien dautres... A limage du 3è album Back in Town, sorti en août 2011, Bad Mules interprète sur scène des compositions originales blues et swing, ainsi que des reprises de Wynonie Harris, Amos Milburn, Big Joe Turner, Dave Bartholomew, Guitar Slim, Little Walter, Jimmy Rogers, Willie Walker, Lee Dorsey, Johnny guitar Watson... Par son énergie et sa cohésion, Bad Mules a su conquérir son public dans les hauts lieux du blues. Vous avez peut être déjà pu les apercevoir, ensemble ou individuellement, sur de nombreuses scènes.
