BADAB- 40K- OBSERVATION OF PIETY Part 1 Inquisitor Frain - TopicsExpress

BADAB- 40K- OBSERVATION OF PIETY Part 1 Inquisitor Frain stood on the bridge of the Omnissiah’s Victory clad in massive plates of terminator armor typically associated with the more battle hardened of the Ordo Malleus. Frain’s brow was flattened and his eyes were buried in a view screen attempting to understand the readings coming back from his initial surveillance mission to Piety. He slammed his fist into the screen, “How is anyone supposed to work with this garbage! These useless machines can barely walk a straight line, how are they ever going to create any useful Intel.” High Princeps Cadmon Krom strolled into the room laughing in the face of the Inquisitors frustration. “They’ll give you back as much as you gave us, when you showed up making demands of the Legio to support this pitiful war effort you’ve been engaging in.” Frain was an agent of the Ordos and his abilities were only matched by his unrelenting temper. He roared with anger as he snatched his Daemon Hammer from the ground, and came barreling towards Krom. His anger only betrayed him, as seconds later he found himself crumpled over at the foot of the High Princeps and flanked by the Usarax that put him there. The machine had jumped from the shadows and taken Frain from his feet before he could even acknowledge its existence. Krom smirked, “You may present some relevant power on the bridge with those pitiful Militarium and Astartes command crews. However this is a ship of the Legio Crucius, and while the Usarax warriors may pale in comparison to the might war machines in our hold, they will always be more effective than you.” Frain’s eyes glowed with his anger, as his mind subconsciously tapped into the warp energy running through body. Krom laughed harder than before, “Don’t waste your time Frain, those tricks don’t work here.” Krom losing his laugh as rage took over, “The only thing that works here is you being a little more open about the location of Vasl Icarus!” Frain found new confidence as he brought himself back to his feet, “Release your Adept into the city, get me confirmation that Piety has in fact slipped into darkness and I will tell you everything you need to know.” The High Princeps gave the order, but across so much empty space it seemed like it took ages to be received. Being so close to the Maelstrom the feed crackled open, and while it would clear for a moment the inference was impossible to avoid. In the moments of clarity Adept Andreas could be seen stepping out of the Triaros Conveyor. Another blink of vision revealed Heavy flamer Servitors surrounding the Adept, as he progressed through the city. The motion tracking video would occasionally cut to the Tech Thralls that had been released to bait the Inquisitor’s interest. It was hard to make out but it seemed like they were entangled in what could only be described and a horde of undead. Uselessly flailing at one another in a truly useless attempt to move around what must of only been a useless distraction to each other. Cold and useless machines meant nothing to the undead hoard, and a rotting corpse was useless to the machines. However, in that moment everything the Inquisitor needed to know had been revealed. Only daemons could create such beastly creatures. Shortly thereafter the feed was consumed in light as the flamers began to torch everything moving. Frain turned to Krom and pulled a report from his book titled, “Traitors on Angstrom.” Part 2 Krom paced his quarters, the potential for combat fueling a nervous energy that could only be expelled in battle planning. Krom lived for the moments that he was able to ascend to the platform of command of the great Titans of Legio Crucius. The rest of the world knew them as Warmongers. It’s as if they only lived for the moments when they were singlehandedly destroyed entire worlds. Krom had now been given all he needed to justify Legio Crucius’ every desire to take control of all aspects of the Angstom’s operation. In his hand he held a picture of some inhuman creation being greeted by one of the Angstrom’s many Magos. Landing orders had been granted by command back on Ryza, and Angstrom would soon belong to Krom! Inquisitor Frain sat in pure focus within his quarters. Where you would expect to see relief in finally having the resources released to him that he needed to pursue whatever dark ends he sought on Piety, you could only see the complete and utter determination in the Inquisitor. Almost in an instant he disappeared from his quarters, slipping into the warp that he hated so much. No one could possibly know what dark powers Frain had encountered in his life, but as he emerged from the warp on the other side of the system it was clear he had ben influenced by their taint. With any other being there would be questions about how and why, but who was there to question him here? He was the agent of the Ordos, he was the one who did the question asking. Beyond that the Legio was glad to be rid of his presence in their primary fleet, and the robot legions at his command on Piety were only there to serve his purposes.
