“BALTIC COMBAT GAMES 2014” INTERNATIONAL FORUM During May, 23-25, 2014 “Baltic Combat Games 2014” international forum took place in Olympic Sports Center in Riga for the second time. It was organized in cooperation with Latvian Sports Combat Alliance. The idea of the Alliance is to work in close cooperation with Olympic and non-Olympic recognized Latvian combat sports federations. Forum was organized by four olympic sports federations: 1. Latvian Boxing Federation (president Nils Zhuravlovs) 2. Latvian Wrestling Federation ( president Dzintars Urbanchiks) 3. Latvian Judo Federation ( president Raimonds Rublovskis) 4. Latvian Taekwondo Federation ( president Herman Mochalin) With a help of Latvian Olympic Committee and Latvian Sports Federation Council 14 tournaments lasts for three days, where 12 Latvian Federations were involved. Huge demonstration show happened on May, 23 during the opening ceremony where all the participants showed their skills for the referees. “Hansu” club of Latvian Taekwondo Federation was awarded with a 3 place in those demonstration programm, Latvian Sports Wushu Federation reached the 2 place, but Latvian Kickboxing federation was awarded with a 1 place. 1543 sportsmen from 12 countries took part – Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal, Germany, Russia and Bulgaria. 8 fedeartion of 12 did a competition tournaments during this forum: Olympic Taekwondo, Boxing, KickBoxing, non-Olympic Taekwondo, Latvian National wrestling Ei-dar, Wushu, Greco-Roman wrestling, Free style wrestling, Grapling, Kombatan, Judo and ect. Grandmaster Juerg Ziegler Munich and London International Hall of Fame council member, World Sokeship Counsil Member took place in forum as well and noticed the high level of sportsmen. Rami Vainionpa – president of Scandinavian Sinmoo Hapkido association attended this forum as well. Latvian Taekwondo Federation (president Herman Mochalin) played a role of organizer and coordinatator. All the federations are ready for the futher work to do such kind of tournaments each year to keep it as a tradition.
