BAND DIRECTOR POSITION OPEN FOR THE DUNEDIN CONCERT BAND The City of Dunedin Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a new Band Director for the Dunedin Concert Band, an 84-piece volunteer orchestra. This is a paid, contractual position. Candidate must be available for Tuesday night rehearsals from September through May. The Band Director plans, coordinates and implements musical arrangements for concerts and works closely with volunteer musicians to ensure quality community performances. Qualifications include: • A music degree • Experience as a band conductor with some community band experience. Orchestral experience is also a plus. • Strong organization skills and ability to articulate music theory to others. • Possess knowledge of music theory, conducting techniques, band instrumentation. • Ability to recruit, enthuse and encourage skilled musicians.
