BBC Comedy legend Charlie Higson, known to millions in the UK as Ralph from Ted & Ralph, Swiss Toni & Bob Flemming (amongst many more characters in the BBC comedy smash hit of the 90s, The Fast Show) gave British Actor Martin Popplewell (Danish resident of 20 years) permission to do a one off, world exclusive event with Fast Show material. In Martins first solo project he has re-written parts, assembled 90 minutes of sketches from literally hundreds and readapted the BBC TV show to a stand up style 90 minute show. Instead of addressing extras and the camera, the Fast Show characters, made up of a mixture of amateur and professional Copenhagen based actors, address the audience. They will perform more than 70 sketches in 90 minutes. It will be performed twice on the same day; at 14.00 and 17.00 so that no-one misses the chance to see a one off like this. Sunday December 7th on the Stalden Stage at Krudttønden Theatre in Østerbro. Martin is producing, directing, marketing and co-starring in The Fast Show - Stood Up, playing 13 different characters, He has performed several leading roles in various CTC (Copenhagen Theatre Circle) productions and is in the process of creating English Drama Company; a company that will provide audio voice/speak services, a play & learn drama workshop for 1st year Danish schoolchildren, and specialize in English language, self written, self produced and self directed stage performances. Martin is currently doing a business degree at CPH Business Academy in Lyngby, in Multimedia Design & Communication. A top up Bachelors Degree in Entrepeneurship & Innovation will give Martin all the tools necessary to launch the company professionally, and to introduce his long term goal of producing theatre for the senses, utilizing the ever evoluting latest multimedia technology. He intends to work alongside his studies to slowly build & create the image and portfolio of English Drama Company, ready for a professional launch in three years from now. In the meantime the portfolio will slowly build through audiobook productions, drama workshop trials and regular own stage productions. The Fast Show - Stood Up is the first production.
