BBQ BLAST AND LOST PIG KEEP BARRIE POLICE BUSY Early morning risers in an east-end neighbourhood may have been rubbing their eyes to confirm what they saw on the street early Sunday morning. At about the same time Barrie police officers and firefighters responded to a Hickling Street address for a report of an explosion, other officers nearby were corralling a hog named Isabelle which had roamed from its owners home. According to police, a barbeque had exploded around 7:30 a.m. and slightly damaged the residence. There were no injuries and firefighters determined the explosion was accidental. At the same time, officers took Isabelle — who police say is a domestic pet — and returned him to a grateful owner. Police say the citys bylaw enforcement department will be following up with licensing issues. According to a Barrie police, it appears the two incidents are coincidental.
