BE A GOOD STEWARD I Corinthian 4: 1-5 “Even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” I Peter 4: 10 (KJV) A steward can be said to be someone who manage the affairs of another entity. For example, a steward could be responsible for an athlete’s domestic affairs. The performance of such an athlete can actually be tied to the effectiveness of the steward because if the fails in his duties such as ensuring the athlete eats right, making a proper arrangement for the supply of energy liquids, etc, the athlete will not finish strong as he might be unable to make it to the finishing line. The Christian walk is a race (Heb 12: 1). We are called to be stewards, to help one another finish strong. As a steward, we are expected to be faithful and true to our calling (I Corinthians 3: 2). We are called to provide the support, care, encouragement and service that others need to be able to run the race well. So if we fail our duties as stewards, we have not only failed those who were called to support, we have also failed the one who has called us into stewardship. As you labor in God’s vineyard, do all you can not to cause anyone to stumble or cause them to stop their race half-way? Be a good steward because the bible says everyone’s work will be tired 9I Corinthians 3: 13) and rewards will be given accordingly. Will you receive a good reward? Think about it!
