BECAREFUL OF WHAT YOU BELIEVE! If anybody brings a teaching that is unfamiliar to you, do not believe it. Just because we say it is correct does not make it so. The Word of God ONLY will say if it is right or wrong! Go straight to the Word, to the verse, to the chapter, and, if necessary, to the book that the person have quoted from. Each book is a letter, it has a beginning, a middle and an end. If anybody quote a scripture from the end of a letter, an unfamiliar scripture, then the entire book needs to be read to grasp any understanding of what is being said. When the 66 books of the Word were written, they did NOT have numbered verses, that system was invented in 1208, in Britain. Solely for our convenience, and it unfortunately allows us to cherry pick certain verses to fit a teaching, something I am totally against. ONLY when each book is read entirely, can we see what God is actually saying throughout His Word. From Genesis to Revelation. The Old Testament(OT) and the New Testament(NT) are totally in tune with each other. The OT foretells the emergence of the NT Church and the NT reveals that revelation in the OT. They are mirror images of each other, so whatever teaching anybody bring MUST have its origins in the OT. Please, stop being lazy and reluctant, for that is the major reason why many are being mislead by false and greedy preachers! Try whatever you are been told with the Scriptures to acertain how true it is! Study your bible more! May your week be fruitul and blessed in Jesus name.
