BEEF EATING IS THE BIGGEST CULPRIT FOR CARBON EMISSIONS Eating beef is most costly for the environment in terms of the order of magnitude. It takes 10 times on average as compared to other animal derived foods such as poultry and pork. The Weizmann Institute of Science Research looked at the five main sources of protein in American diet : dairy, beef, poultry, pork and eggs. The environmental costs per nutritional unit in terms of a calorie or grams of protein was calculated. The different kinds of feeds such as hay, corn and other elements needed to produce beef were ascertained for calorie and grams of protein. The biggest culprit was formed to be involving beef. Eating beef is both costly and environment unfriendly. Here, the concept of vegetarianism is by far the most beneficial to the environment.
