[ BEING THE COACH; Yes, its a ROLLER DERBY Post! ] On October 2014, I attented a CrossFit Level 1 Certificate Course and got my Level 1 Trainer Certificate. The diploma reads Trainer but, during the seminar, the question was Do you want to be a Coach? (Which is something I dont want to be for the time being)... Trainer Vs. Coach - Two different words. But, to me, the most interesting part of said Episode is the interview of Anders Lindsjö (Whos that guy? At 1:33:28, Anders Lindsjö explains the difference between a Coach and an Instructor (Or, maybe, a Trainer?)... The difference is what Id personally call the human factor. Anders Lindsjö call it soul, or Community. *A Coach needs to look her/his Athlete in the eyes*, to know when its more about motivation than its about skills... An Instructor is all about skills, physiology. Of course, the best Coaches are also good Instructors. I find this interesting because, in Roller Derby, a lot of Coaches are Skaters who overnight become Coaches because hey! DIY/*By the Skaters, for the Skaters*, a Coach was needed... Also because, the Coach of Team France Roller Derby (The best French Roller Derby Players!), Pierre Hdg, isnt a Skater at all (
