BELGIAN side SK Lokeren have admitted an interest in Celtic striker Amido Balde. However, sporting director Willy Reynders insisted the club will NOT match the Hoops £1.5million outlay when they brought in the 23-year-old from Vitoria Guimaraes last summer. Now Lokeren, Jim Betts former club, may pursue the player on a season-long loan. Reynders admitted: I know Balde from Cercle Bruges and Guimaraes. He fits the profile we are looking for, but he seems expensive. I dont know if a loan is possible, but we will explore all options. The Belgians have just sold top scorer Hamdi Harbaoui to Qatar for £1.5million, but have no intention of blowing the lot on the former Portuguese Under-21 international. Balde came on as a second-half substitute in the 6-1 drubbing from Spurs in Helsinki at the weekend, but failed to make any sort of impact. He scored only three goals from a handful of starts last season and was used mainly as a substitute. Now Ronny Deila could be poised to offload another front player to Belgium after collecting £1.2million for Tony Watt from Standard Liege last week.
