BEWARE MSN UPDATES Beware of updates from Microsoft for Windows 8 and for MSN. An update on August 1 has totally caused major problems to access of files some of which seem to have disappeared, to communicating via MSN Premium (The Butterfly) which I pay good money for and have had for more than 10 years without a major problem like I am having now. Since August 1, I have spent almost 12 hours attempting to get through to tech people and having them remotely access my computer to fix the problems, only to have them return on rebooting the computer after shutting down. Today alone I spent 6 hours, since 6:30 this morning. Forget ever talking to someone in the United States, it seems that Microsoft is actually housed in India, the Philippians, and Mexico. Possibly Bill Gates actually lives in those countries. One particular customer service rep, a person supposedly named GAN, was completely rude, refused to listen to the details of what the problem was and when I asked to be transferred to a supervisor I was hung up on.. Twice I got cut off while waiting to be transferred to a tech person or in two cases to a supervisor. A tech finally spent an hour remotely controlling my computer and declaring the problem fixed but when I returned from a home visit and turned the computer on and signed in, all the problems that were supposedly fixed had returned. I called again, gave my Case # and was told that I would have to hang on for at least a half hour before a tech person was available which would have tied up my phone making it impossible for anyone to contact me. I now have resorted to making this knowledge known to all those who receive my mission updates to give them a cautionary warning about having updates automatically downloaded into your computer since this could happen to you.
