BEWARE OF BLIND-SPOTS, SATAN DESIRES TO EXPLOIT THEM! According to the dictionary, a blind-spot has the following definition, A part of an area that cannot be directly observed under existing circumstances. Blind-spots are areas of our hearts that we dont see. In order for us as believers to walk soberly, we must first learn to walk honestly. This means coming to terms with the fact that there are some issues and problems within EVERYONE of our lives that still exist. I have learned that just because we do not see an issue erupt now, doesnt mean that the issue doesnt exist and will not erupt later. I have also learned that under the proper circumstances and without the influence of Gods sustaining grace upon our hearts, everyone of us are susceptible to doing things we never thought possible. If we do not believe that this is true, we have yet to see our utter and total depravity but for the grace of God. Its these blind-spots (the things we dont see or dont want to recognize) that the enemy desires to exploit at an appointed and strategic time. If we refuse to recognize that we have them, we are in jeopardy of losing everything because we have failed to prepare our hearts aright. One of the reasons I am always sharing about not walking in the flesh and cautioning about taking Bible reading/studying and prayer vacations is, I know how it can be without the power of God influencing our lives. If I am left to my own devices, I am an extremely dangerous individual. Not necessarily to others, but to myself. Leaning on my flesh will inevitably cause my self destruction; and if youre honest with yourself, it will cause yours also. I recall faithful Elijah who did and performed great and mighty exploits for the Lord. If anyone was a prophetic voice and operated in the gift of miracles, it was Elijah. If anyone experienced supernatural provision and moved in resurrection power, Elijah was that individual! But although Elijah was used in such a way, we behold his weakness in his presumption and in his intoxicated view of himself (1 Kings 19:10). He claimed to be the only one left standing for the Lord during a time of great apostasy, but failed to recognize Obadiah and the 100 other prophets the Lord had secretly tucked away. Although they were not in the forefront as he was, they still belonged to the Lord and had not surrendered their lives to Baal or any other false God. It seems to me that Elijah looked at those prophets who were hidden as wimps, fearful and may have thought himself more spiritual because he faced Ahab and they didnt. But as we know, the one who claimed to be standing was in jeopardy of falling! The same fear Elijah condemned in the 100 prophets was about to be the same fear he experienced. But because the fear in his own heart was not something that was clear to him before Jezebel hunted him, he gloried in his presumption. Nevertheless it was about to become as clear as day (as the right circumstance would bring it to light), that Elijah wasnt as courageous as he thought he was, Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time. And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life... (1 Kings 19:2,3). How about Peter who rebuked the Lord for trying to share with him about his blind-spot? The Lords purpose in telling Peter about his blind-spot was so he (Peter) could be sober-minded by watching and praying that he fall not into the coming temptation. But because Peter felt he had no blind-spot, the blind-spot was exploited by Satan at a strategic time. Satans strategy was to place Peter around the same multitudes he had so openly witnessed to about Jesus and then at the demonically perfect time have him deny Jesus in the audience of the same people. This was a sinister plot to overthrow and to destroy both the testimony and the faith of the apostle Peter, but the Lord prayed that His faith would not fail. Had the Lord not prayed for Peters faith to have not failed, it is possible that under the weight and distress that his failure caused him, he could have had a similar death as Judas (suicide). In this last hour dearly beloved, we must ALL come into the understanding that we have blind-spots Psalms 19:12)! We do not stand by our strength alone, we stand ONLY by the sustaining grace and undeserved mercy of God! The war that we fight against evil and wicked spirits is way too difficult for us in our flesh. The plots of the devil too crafty to recognize in ourselves. We must NEVER think that our past victories are sufficient to keep us in our present warfare. There must be a constant and honest examining of ourselves, a sober looking at of ourselves and a total leaning/depending on the Lord. I have also learned not to say what I will and will not do. My cry is, Lord God KEEP ME from falling into temptation. If YOU do not hold ME, give me YOUR wisdom and develop your self control in me, I will bring reproach upon your name, your church and destruction to myself. Keep me humble Lord and help me not to become haughty or rise against any of YOUR counsel. If I hear your voice, God help me NOT to harden my heart, even if the rebuke crushes and humiliates me, in Jesus name. The beauty of the Lord is, He doesnt always keep us in the blind about our blind-spots. As we walk humbly and totally dependent upon Him, He slowly and gently reveals areas in our lives which need cleansing, But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin (1 John 1:7). This verse of scripture is a promise to those who are walking obediently to the Lord. In other words, this scripture is speaking about those believers who are walking obediently in the truths that have already been revealed to them in measure. The Lord does not hold to our account the sin that we have no intimate knowledge of (Psalms 32:2; James 4:17). The Lord only requires us to give an account of that which He has up to this point revealed/given unto us. To whom much is given, much shall be required. This scripture is not talking about those who plan/plot for their sin, harbor bitterness, unforgiveness and malice (and know better), but for those who truly want the way out of these things. This scripture is for those who recognize their need for deliverance and who are serious about receiving it. As the end approaches, the refining fires of God will burn within the church in great measure. Beloved, they have already begun, but the heat will gradually turn up as the Day approaches. There are somethings that are within our hearts that are severe weaknesses that the enemy wants the opportunity to exploit, but the Lord is not allowing him to. This because the enemy has no legal right to us for the things we (as believers) dont know still exists within us. This is why the Lord will allow the fires of refinement to burn more fervently in hopes of getting at the deeply embedded and core issues of our hearts. Let me warn you dearly beloved, as the Lord begins to reveal to us the deeply embedded core of our hearts, we are going to see things surface that we may have thought we already addressed. DO NOT RUN OR BECOME DISCOURAGED AS A RESULT OF YOUR FAILURES! In order for these things to come out, they must first come up. It can be deeply discouraging and tormenting to see things resurface in our characters that we felt we already overcome. The truth is, we have overcome to an extent, but now the Lord is going for the complete death blow of that thing. God is addressing the deeper staining and marring of our characters and spiritual development. I will also say this, there will be some struggling, failing and falling as we walk through this, SO DONT BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU SEE IT! But always remember when you struggle, fail or fall, the BLOOD OF JESUS IS THERE TO FORGIVE US FROM EVERYONE OF THEM! The scriptures are clear, ...the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin (1 John 1:7). The word Cleanseth denotes a progressive cleansing, not an instant/immediate one. As the Lords light begins to expose our darkness, we must take full responsibility for OUR darkness and dont look to blame others for OUR stuff. Everyone of us have some STUFF but unless we could admit our stuff, the stuff stays and we are more in jeopardy of these weaknesses being exploited to bring shame on Gods name and our testimonies. Let us be watchful of what it is the Lord is revealing to our hearts concerning us. Let us examine ourselves closely in this hour and be prepared to avenge any ungodliness the Lord may be ready to address in our lives. Whatever you do, do NOT condemn yourself and dont stop coming before the Lord in genuine confession and sincere repentance. This is an intimate work between you and the Lord. As long as there is an honest and humble heart, there is plentiful deliverance from our God. Be encouraged, whats coming up in you is not to condemn you but the work of the Holy Spirit to cleanse you. Stand in Christ and make your abode in HIS presence. God bless and always remember, JESUS LOVES YOU! For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief (Pro 24:16)
