BIBLE QUOTATION Matthew 5 v 11 – 12 ‘’ blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.’’ THEME: DEALING WITH PERSECUTION. When we talk about persecution we mean when people become hostile to you because of your committed to serve Jesus Christ. Persecution of Christians at times has led to deaths, suffering, rejection, false accusations and even destruction of property. One of the signs of a true Christian is when you are persecuted for righteousness’ sake. People will hate you, speak against you, do all kinds of evil to you just because you love and obey Jesus Christ, the King of Kings. The Lord says when you experience this, do not be afraid or sad but rejoice exceedingly for great is your reward in heaven. Never turn your back on Jesus because people are persecuting you. But rather serve Him, because it is a sign that you are doing the right thing and God is with you. Persecution is Satan’s manipulation to separate you from God, so as to take control over your life and frustrate your God given destiny; whereas, God uses it to build your faith in Him and to reveal His favour and power to you. Your friends, family members, colleagues, bosses, parents, will mock, insult and even reject you, for your decision to serve Jesus Christ. Don’t hate them or speak ill against them, simply ask God to forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing; equally ask God to save their souls so that they can serve Jesus Christ. Saul of Tarsus, persecuted the church of Christ, but when his soul was saved ,he became a follower of Christ; a great Apostle [Acts 9 v1 -22]. Stand with Jesus Christ forever and never turn your back on Him and it shall be well with you all the days of your life in Jesus name. PRAY [1] Father, I repent of my sins, have mercy on me in Jesus name. [2] Father, give me the strength to serve you all the days of my life in Jesus name. [3] Father, forgive those who are persecuting me and save their souls in Jesus name. [4] Father, help me never to compromise my salvation for anything in Jesus name. [5] Father, empower me to grow spiritually in Jesus name. [6] Father, prosper and protect me in Jesus name.
